Liliana Diaz
Liliana Diaz is an expert energy economics consultant and a specialist in the Latin American region. She provides business advisory and dispute resolution consulting services to energy companies, foreign investors and sovereigns. Her expertise encompasses a wide array of energy industries including oil and gas, unconventional fossil fuels, liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewables, power generation, transmission and distribution, and energy efficiency. She currently works as a Managing Director at a global management consulting firm.
Liliana’s interests include the development of energy sources and markets. She is frequently invited to participate in fora as an energy expert. Most recently, she presented at the 27th World Gas Conference, the 2019 Gastech Conference, the 2019 Latin America Regional International Association of Petroleum Negotiators Conference and the 2019 TGI Forum on topics covering geopolitical risks and emerging natural gas markets in Latin America. Her written work has appeared in the LNG Journal, OGEL Journal and ICSID Journal.
Liliana holds a B.A. in finance and international affairs from Universidad Externado in Colombia, a M.A. in international economics with honors and a Ph.D. in international economics and energy policy with honors from The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. Dr. Diaz also lectures on energy policy and markets in the Americas at SAIS. She is fluent in English, Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
Fun fact: She loves history, politics and philosophy and enjoys reading about these topics in her “me” time. She also loves dancing both inside and outside the shower and prefers, of course, Latin tunes!
