Stephanie Hare
Stephanie Hare researches technology, political risk and history. As a principal director at Accenture Research, she focuses on security. Before that she worked as a strategist at Palantir and as a consultant at Accenture.
Stephanie has published research showing how EU data protection regulation is forcing US technology companies to change their operating models — and in doing so puts them at risk of violating data protection regulations and cybersecurity laws elsewhere. This builds on her research of corporate foreign policy, begun at Oxford Analytica, where she led analysis of the euro crisis and was selected for the landmark BBC Expert Women programme.
Stephanie holds a BA in Liberal Arts in Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a MSc in Theory and History of International Relations and a PhD in International History, both from the LSE. For her research, which included interviews with Maurice Papon, a French civil servant convicted of crimes against humanity for his role in the deportation of Jews during the Second World War, she was awarded the Alistair Horne Visiting Fellowship at St Antony’s College, Oxford.
Fun fact: Stephanie partly funded her graduate studies by working as a cheesemonger at Paxton and Whitfield, which holds Royal Warrants from HM The Queen and HRH the Prince of Wales. She remains happy to discuss your cheese and wine tasting needs.
